Currently, it is hard for me to get programs such as these started, but if I am selected as Miss Southeastern Ohio, I believe my ideas will be better heard. It is my opinion that this region is sorely lacking in this area of the arts. Dance promotes a form of expression that provides a joy that cannot be found through anything else. It is elemental in the joy that it brings and at the same time complex in the emotions that are expressed. Martha Graham once said, “Dance is the hidden language of the soul.” By dancing a person can discover who they are and that, to me, is one of the most important discoveries a human can make in his/her lifetime. By promoting the art of Dance I would hope to share with the Southeastern Ohio community the joy and happiness I have felt. These feelings should be shared and passed on to others, and I feel I would be able to do this by becoming Miss SEO.” 13.
